sTARTUp Day 2019 - What's New This Year?

On 23th to 25th January 2019, sTARTUp Day takes place for the third time. Being chosen to be the most innovative conference in Estonia last year, the bar is now set even higher. What to expect?

Not mentioning the obvious fact that the festival now takes place in January instead of December, there are some new things to expect. Firstly, the format has changed: the main festival program now lasts two full days instead of one. And just like the last year, there will be several side events taking place all around the city.

Secondly, the biggest business festival in Baltics will grow significantly. „Last year, we had over 2600 participants from 33 countries. This year, we’re planning to bring together 4000 attendees from all over the world,“ says Ermo Tikk, the Head Organizer of the festival.

As the festival grows, a new venue is also needed. And the chosen place is not an ordinary festival venue: the third sTARTUp Day takes place in renewed University of Tartu Sports hall. „We have always looked for new and exciting venue places. Hopefully, it helps to create a true festival atmosphere as well as to inspire others and to show that outwardly nontraditional places can host events with thousands of visitors,“ explains Tikk.

sTARTUp Day 2017 took place in AHHAA center and in Turu Sports hall.

One thing is sure: the program will be diverse and full of surprises, including discussions about business, innovation, new technologies, startup success stories and lessons learned, complemented with pitching competitions and hands-on seminars. In addition to hosting our local startup superstars, the festival team is currently working to bring some world-famous names on the stage. Keep an eye on our Facebook event to be the first to know!
